SPACE & SCIENCE

A little trip to Saturn

An imaginary space trip with sister Ava, icy rings, and a very big discovery.

Read the sample

Hey Luka! It’s Alex here. Ready for a little trip to somewhere enormous? Today, we’re visiting Saturn! Imagine a ball so big that more than seven hundred Earths could fit inside it. Now give that ball a beautiful set of rings. Luka, imagine you and your sister Ava are looking out of a pretend spaceship. Those beautiful rings? They’re made of billions of pieces of ice and rock! Some are tiny grains. Others are as big as a house. Here’s a question for you. True or false: Saturn’s rings are one solid piece? Have a think. It’s false! They’re lots and lots of separate pieces, all travelling around the planet. What a discovery to share with Ava!

ANIMALS & NATURE

Eight arms. Endless wonder.

Start with Pip’s four paws. Meet an ocean neighbour with twice as many arms.

Read the sample

Hey Luka! Alex here, and today we’re imagining a peek beneath the waves. There’s an octopus hiding among the rocks. An octopus can change the colour of its skin to blend into its surroundings. It has eight arms, covered in little suckers that help it feel and hold things. Think about Pip’s four paws, Luka. An octopus has eight arms. That’s twice as many! Hold up eight fingers — one for every octopus arm. Here’s something else amazing: an octopus has three hearts! Two send blood to its gills, and one sends it around the rest of its body. Now, true or false: an octopus has just one heart? Have a little think. False! Three hearts. What a wonderful ocean neighbour.

EVERYDAY WONDERS

Where do raindrops come from?

Nana’s tomato plants are the start of a wonderful journey through the water cycle.

Read the sample

Hey Luka! It’s Alex. Think about Nana watering her tomato plants. That water has been on quite a journey! Some of it might have been in a cloud, a river, or even the sea. How does that happen? As water warms up, some of it turns into a gas called water vapour and rises into the air. We call that evaporation. Higher up, the air is cooler. The water vapour can turn back into tiny drops, and lots of those drops together make a cloud. When drops join up and get heavy enough, they fall as rain! Next time you’re with Nana, you could tell her about the amazing journey water takes. From a puddle, to a cloud, to her tomato plants. A little world of wonder, right in her garden.

FOR CURIOUS GROWN-UPS

A few things
you might wonder.

We thought you might have some too.

What makes a HeyLuka episode personal?

Each child has their own show, with a presenter name and voice you choose. Episodes are shaped by their age, interests, and the family details you add — from a favourite hobby to a grandparent’s birthday. You decide which people and details belong in their world.

What’s actually in an episode?

A warm hello, something new to discover, questions to answer out loud, a true-or-false quiz, a little activity, and a joke to finish. The show is built around learning and participation, with pauses that give your child time to think. You can adjust the episode length and pacing.

How are the episodes made?

AI writes a script using the planned topic and the details you provide, then a generated presenter voice brings it to life. The system plans a varied mix of topics and can produce episodes on your schedule. You can also create an episode from a question or idea and listen before publishing. The samples on this page are short, illustrative excerpts for a fictional listener.

Can our family appear in the episode artwork?

Yes. Add a photo to a person or pet’s family profile, generate a cartoon character, and approve it. Their character can then appear in future episode covers when they’re part of the story, alongside the listener. Photos and character creation are optional — your child can enjoy their show without them.

How much control do I have?

You manage the family profiles, topics, schedule, episode length, and publishing. Move lessons around the calendar, add your own ideas, give the planner a theme or topics to avoid, and review episodes. Publishing is controlled by a separate switch in your household settings.

Where can my child listen?

Every child gets a private web player link and podcast feed. Open the player on a phone, tablet, or computer, or use the feed in a compatible podcast app. You can also connect the feed to a Yoto Make Your Own card; the player or card needs to be set up by an adult.

Can I make a different show for each child?

Yes. Each child can have their own interests, presenter, voice, schedule, player link, and feed. Family details live together in your household, so you can choose the right connections for each listener.
